I'm giving this book a (5) Stars because I believe everyone, and I mean everyone, should read this book. It's truthful, honest, factual. The views of the Author about why there was a "war" I do not share. And the fact that the "Vietnam Conflict" as it was concerted until a few years after the pull out, the Congress finally concerted the fighting in Vietnam a "War". Leaving it a "Conflict" meant No Benefits for the Veterans. After continues protesting, the Congress finally gave in and the "Conflict" became a "War". See Protesting does work. So, Please read this book, and LEARN. Please

A Soldier Story Forever Changed An Infantryman Saga of Life and Death in Vietnam eBook Richard F Hogue Reviews
Great book even though it brought back horrible reminders of what we went through.
Well done.
I really enjoyed his personal story, the problems, the situations, his heartache, etc. Very good
Great story about what infantrymen in Vietnam endured. The book "puts you there" with the drama of firefights and the grind to make it through each day. A sure read book.
Interesting Vietnam book. Have read many on the topic and this one is worth your time. Thanks for your service.
Very well written ,and remarkably detailed account of one Infantryman's experiences in the field and on the Fire Support Bases of Vietnam during the war. As a former grunt, I would not have wanted to walk in his boots. Every step could be his last.
I enjoyed his life story, the details of the areas he fought I and the story of his return to his hometown in Iowa where they welcomed him as a returning war hero, not as a "baby killer soldier."
